Alaska! often called America’s last frontier, is a place truly a step back in time, where wide open spaces are the rule not the
exception and where one can still find a breath of fresh air in more ways than one.
Thousands of miles of latitude from “the lower 48”, Alaska is a vast sanctuary of pristine wilderness and a nearly forgotten lifestyle from times gone by.
Our town, Homer, is in many ways the jewel of Alaska. It has been on several Best Small Towns of America lists and is known by locals as “the end of the road”, not only because Alaska Number One Highway ends up in our harbor but because is a destination for weekenders from Anchorage, the place to come and enjoy the vibe of the town and the fishing.
But for the avid explorer our shore of the bay is just the beginning of the story. To go beyond the road, take a boat ride across the bay for unparalleled hiking trails and adventures galore surrounded by the end of coastal temperate rainforest and a short way up to breathtaking alpine meadows and glaciers.
Starting in the 60’s a young generation discovered the possibilities of a community still developing and over the years more and more flocked to this corner of Alaska, many settled down and Homer became the “Cosmic Hamlet by the Sea”
Homer is a fishing port, an artist community and a town of extraordinary beauty situated on Kachemak Bay surrounded by snow covered mountains. As Alaskan triathletes who live and train here, we would lo ve to share this stunning place with you!
